Course Description: Knowledge become valuable when you are able to internalize, personalize, and convert it into an action plan. Smart Grids are a complicate concept in an industry that is unlike any other. The education required to step into this arena should be thorough, understandable, and comprehensive enough to envision potential opportunities and create a plan. Our research indicates that vendors are interested in developing Smart Grid products and/or services, but are unfamiliar with the intricacies of the Electric Grid -- from the current components of the current Electric Grid, the vision of future Smart Grids, and the integration of new technologies within the existing infrastructure. From cyber-security to physical security, smart metering to plug-in vehicles, or distributed generation to dynamic pricing, this course provides a comprehensive overview of every aspect of the Smart Grid and facilitates the understanding of how a vendor's core competency can be used to develop Smart Grid products and/or services to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
